Difference between Bible and Quran

Both the Bible and the Quran are revered as holy texts by the followers of Islam and Christianity, respectively. Although the two share some similarities, they also have some significant differences:

Origin and Compilation:

The Bible is a collection of writings that were authored by numerous authors between around 1400 BC and AD 100, a time span of nearly 1,500 years. Different religious councils over the course of time assembled the books of the Bible. On the other hand, the Prophet Muhammad received the Quran during a 23-year period, from AD 610 to 632. It was penned down throughout the Prophet’s lifetime and collected into a book soon after his passing.

Language:

Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew are the three languages used to compose the Bible. While the New Testament was primarily written in Greek, the Old Testament was primarily written in Hebrew. On the other hand, the Arabic-language original text of the Quran, which was revealed, has been preserved.

Content:

The content of the Bible and the Quran is different. The Bible includes lessons as well as historical accounts, poetry, and prophecy. On the other hand, the majority of the Quran’s teachings and instructions deal with morality, social difficulties, and other facets of life.

Approach to God:

While both the Bible and the Quran affirm God’s existence and stress the value of having faith in Him, there are some differences in how they go about it. A personal relationship with God is emphasised by Christianity, which is founded on the Bible, via belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Saviour of humanity. Islam, which is founded on the Quran, places a strong emphasis on God’s unity and the necessity of submitting to His will.

Overall, both the Bible and the Quran are significant religious texts, yet they are distinct from one another in terms of their creation, language, content, and theology.
