I have seen people to celebrate new year as Tamil or Hindu new year but Mesha Sankranti is not only Tamil New Year but the new year of the world.

The same Mesha Sankramanam/ Sankranti is celebrated as a new year by Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Manipur, Mithila-Bihar, Odisha, Punjab, Tripura, Nepal, Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, China and Thailand.

In 2016, new year is celebrated between April 10 and April 18 in the four south-eastern Asian nations of Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. This is well known as “Songkran”. Songkran is derived from the Sanskrit word Sankranti.

We all came at this day by the contribution of all the people of our Bharat country. There is nothing like UP, Bengali, Tamil, Bihari or Panhabi …….we all are from one root that is Hindu culture.

Tamil New Year ( Asian New Year) is based on the Mesha Sankranti and it was taken from  Surya Siddhanta written by VarahMihir of Ujjain, MP. Sūrya-siddhānta was composed or revised in the early sixth century.

Now let me know how can we divide the calendar on the names  if Varahmihir and many  mathematicians from all part of Bharat country contributed for it.

We in north India are also celebrating this 2016 Hindu new year as Drmukh Samvatsar so We should call it “Bhartiya Nav Varsha”.

At this time we need to drill down our roots and realize that we all are same…..we all are Bharatiya …..and belongs to a same cultural heritage of Hindu Sanskriti.

Aryan vs Dravid was Christian  propaganda to divide us and the result is mass conversion in Tamilnadu and Kerla.

After all, I would like to say once again that the Mesha Sankraman is the only New Year for all the people who believe on Hindu Sanskriti…..we celebrate the same New samvatsar with different names only.

It’s time to unite on this auspicious day….
